The Power of the Barcode Printer

by admin on July 17, 2009

I was at work a few days ago and I was talking to the man that is in charge of our IT department. We were talking about the barcode labels that the company uses to keep track the inventory. He was telling me in that the way these printers work is through a direct thermal system where the paper is sensitive to heat and changes color because of that in turn making the image which is the barcode. I really found this to be quite interesting because I didn’t know that that’s the way the thermal printers work. The barcode printer that the company uses is huge and sometimes it has to chug along for a while to print all of the labels for the stores. It is pretty amazing though how many it can spit out in such a short period of time.
