What can you say about Marbella that hasn’t already been said? This is the place that many believe is the party capital of Europe and one of the most exclusive places to visit. For the reasons that many people love it here, many think it would be their worst nightmare. However, if you step away from the party zone and exclusive club you will find that Marbella has a lot more to offer.
Surprising though it may seem when you first arrive under the tacky archway on the entrance to Marbella, the centre of the old town is one of the most charming in all of Andalucía. All of this area is famed for it’s white hours, and as Marbella is such an exclusive area the old historic part of the town has been kept in remarkably good condition. Many people who visit Marbella will probably not venture away from the beach. If they don’t view some of the stunning white towns and villages just under an hour away from Marbella then they should at least take the time to wander lazily around the centre of the place they are staying.
Tourism began for this region in Marbella, with the building of the Marbella Club. This exclusive venue is still the place the rich and famous come to soak up the sun. However, you don’t have to be made of money to enjoy what there is on offer here. There are plenty of hotels in Marbella to suit any pocket, and you can always stay at one of the neighboring towns such as Mijas or further along Fuengirola and just catch the bus to the glitz and glamour of Marbella.
If you are in the area, whether it is your cup of tea or not, you may be pleasantly surprised spending a days or so in Marbella, where there are plenty of great holiday hotels and villas.
